Before we dive into the list, let’s understand what the Michelin Star is all about.
The Michelin guide evaluates restaurants on a three-star system.
Three stars represent exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey, two stars signify excellent cooking that is worth a detour, and one star suggests a very good restaurant in its category.
Having one or more Michelin stars is a testament to a restaurant’s culinary excellence and puts it among the best in the world.
The guide covers nearly 2,000 restaurants across the globe.
The judges evaluate restaurants based on various parameters, including ingredient quality, creativity, cooking techniques, flavor, value for money, and consistency.
For a restaurant to earn a Michelin Star, it must excel in all of these areas.
An anonymous inspector travels each year to visit restaurants and hotels.
During the visits, the inspector eats around 250 meals and stays at approximately 150 hotels.
The inspector visits more than 800 establishments and prepares around 1,100 reports with the help of a company manual.
The stars are awarded twice a year at special meetings, and the decision on the awards is made by consensus.
On November 24, 2023, a prestigious publication awarded 2 stars to one restaurant in Buenos Aires and 1 star to six others.
Additionally, seven restaurants were recognized with the ‘Green Star’ for their exceptional commitment to sustainable gastronomy.
Six restaurants in the country received a MICHELIN star for their “cuisine of great delicacy, well worth a visit”:
- Don Julio – Guido Tassi (Buenos Aires)
- Zonda Cocina de Paisaje – Augusto García (Mendoza)
- Casa Vigil – Ivan Azar (Mendoza)
- Brindillas – Mariano Gallego (Mendoza)
- Azafrán – Sebastián Weigandt (Mendoza)
- Trescha – Tomás Treschanski (Buenos Aires)

- Casa Vigil (Mendoza)
- Anchoita (Buenos Aires)
- Crizia (Buenos Aires)
